On June 14th, LDC published their annual Supermarkets, Discounters and Convenience Stores report built to answer two fundamental questions: what are the trends and where are the opportunities?
In the report, we look at the five-year period 2012-2016 and highlight the huge changes that have taken place in the market over the past half-decade. For example, Discounters have expanded in both number and floorspace, but this is starting to slow, alongside the opening of big grocery stores.
This report also looks at which fasciae are growing faster than others, which towns have the highest concentration of people to stores and how each sub-sector is having an impact on the others.
